Why do you need screen protectors? I've had three smart phones now without using a screen protector and I've never scratched any of them

In the past, I'd agree with you, but now that I have a phone that's been dropped a couple times and has cracks on a couple places on the bezel and a screen with one permanent scratch, I can no longer agree.
