I feel kinda violated.
All that time, all the dialogue and not one joke.
That Bubble intro was contrived.
It was like a beautiful modern day Fifth Element to me.
Something about the execution was off
Now that I think about it the romance was so bad it was unnecessary.

Yea it did have that 5th element vibe. The sad part is the cgi was better than most other movies but the script sucked so bad it went to waste kinda. Rihanna character look really fluid

I guess it was the dryness and length that started getting to me. Upon reflection I believe I expected too much and didn't open my mind enough.
Any modern SciFi you can recommend?
It was promoted to be like the next star wars or something. I understand expecting too much.
I thought Jupiter ascending was pretty good. Good cgi.
Life is a basic space horror movie
The arrival is really good. Not too much action but thought provoking
