People are NOT upset about censorship. They're aggrieved by the fact they can't get their brain rot content & have no feasible alternatives in the horizon. It was their comfort, time dump app. In the same way older boomers live for Facebook. Its not some conscious cause for most, who happen to be vocal about its loss.
I work in IT, and it's insane how many "Cybersecurity professionals" in this field are crying over Chinese spyware being banned. TikTok literally farms your data on your device and sends it straight to the CCP.
This isn't the same as Facebook, Google, or Apple taking your data and selling it for advertisement purposes. China will force user data to be handed to them from companies without a subpoena. But fukk it; I guess the TikTok shop is more important than foreign adversaries farming data and using it to influence our population.
