Ok im actually serious about my gym shyt now. I been going to gym past 3-4 months and I've been eating better. Like when I go to Chipotle, I get the riced cauliflower instead of rice and low sour cream and just a tad bit of cheese on my bowl. I was in the mid to higher 220's and I weighed myself last Thursday and I'm now 198. I've been drinking more water and eating fried foods and using butter sparingly. I'm also eating less bad carbs and sugars. When I get to 190, ima focus more on weight lifting.

I've also been put on a minor high blood pressure med and I wanna hope to get off that in the future.

I'm actually addicted to working out now. Its a real stress reliever and better for me to do that than drink, eat bad food or develop another bad habit. I got the genes for drinking problems cuz many relatives have or had them and some died because of it.

I wanna get suggestions on upbeat songs to add to my play list. I normally like hip hop/r&b (rick Ross and jeezy are my two favs) and some pop songs are cool like music from Black Eyed Peas. I got a stressful full time job and major family issues on both sides. I'm glad I'm part of the work out gang. I see why y'all gym bros be keep trying to persuade us cuz it does help. I actually feel better about my appearance and this is coming from a bruh who struggled hard with self esteem, confidence and body image issues.

You trying to stick to songs you know or you open to new shyt? You cool with female artists? What steaming service you use - if any?

I’m big on making playlists, so I’m not sure if you’ll find similar lists per my suggestions, but:

90’s uptempo rap - father MC, heavy d, kid n play, rob base...mix in some c+c factory, BBD, TLc, 2 live crew, salt n pepa, Chubb rock, etc

Janet Jackson has a bunch of upbeat joints - singles and album cuts - that are good to workout to. “come on get up”, “rollercoaster”, and “damn baby” are dope songs from her late in her career that are GOAT cardio songs, “rock with u” (also a late career track) got that 70’s disco feel, shyt give me a bOunce when doing high volume/circuit days

If you cool with some of those classic, go-to white people songs - pour some sugar on me, living on a prayer, hungry like the wolf,

If you use Spotify, they got a playlist 80’s Jam session which stays jammin on some cookout shyt - upbeat Luther and Michael, cameo, cherelle, teena Marie, Evelyn king, gap band, etc

I’ll rock with various soulful/deep house playlists occasionally, makes you feel like you’re at a pool party or warehouse club full of go go dancers :heh:

if you’re a 90’s kid and fukked with alternative/punk - then playlists with Red Hot Chili Peppers, Green Day, blink 187, sublime, offspring etc

sorry if you just wanted song names, but with streaming, it’s easy to just hop into a upbeat playlist of the artist or genre of your choosing. But I could link you to a lot of fun workout non rap shyt if you let me know what you like.

Thanks Dora....ur suggestions help me cuz ima 90s child and I forgot about artists like Salt n Pepa, c&c factory. I just came from gym. I actually like both male and female artists especially rap. I listened to a variety of music from Lil Baby to cardi to missy to naughty by nature. I actually listened to Cold Rock a Party by MC Lyte tonight. Anything upbeat helps me with all I'm going thru right now. I'm addicted to working out and did an,hour of cardio and 30 min of legs and thigh weights. I listened to go go on Monday evening.

Good suggestion of white songs to play as well. There is a song Pumped Up Kicks that is very upbeat that gets me hard on the treadmill and stepper. I also like some songs from David Guetta and Calvin Harris.

Oh and I used to fuk with Heavy D and LL back in the day. DMX came to mind as well...ima add him too.

Thanks and rep.

EDM and House mixes.

Can rip whole 1hr+ playlists off YouTube.

Bouta let this Idris mix ride later today.

Real gains come from no headphones and vibing to the shytty house sound in the gym. It’s not a PR if Rhianna “Where Have You Been” Dance mix isn’t playing

Real Talk

Rhianna retired off that song alone :dead:

Update: still working out but I'm 194 lbs now....looking better tho. Still a work in progress. I'm losing at a slower rate but I need to buy new pants...shyts becoming unfitted and unbecoming on me. I may take some time this weekend to go to the outlet and get some khakis, jeans and joggers.

Ima foodie but I'm hella addicted to eating healthy.

this is a big part of the trick to changing your lifestyle.

We get used to making food one of our big treats of the day/week...and its hard to take that away

so you have to find a way to find pleasure in other areas of life

I hope you are still at it breh. There are plenty of good foods you can eat that won't pack on the pounds, just learn to read labels and cook most of your meals.

Once you learn to read labels and ingredients you'll be disgusted by some of the shyt to use to love.
