OP...
As a sneaker aficionado, I will say this...
Some people buy them to wear while others buy them to resell...
Point is...
Sneakers, like other articles of fashion, means different things for different people...
I wear a specific type of sneaker brand for personal reasons. It holds sentimental value for me, but I don't expect you nor anyone else to feel the same way..
I do know this...
Most people may not care nor notice what I rock, but some people do...
I had a Breh compliment me on one of my sweatshirts when I was in VA early last month. I had people staring @ another sweatshirt on the plane back to CA a few days later.
Sneaker wise, I had a Breh compliment me on my kicks at a casino a while back. Brought back memories for him and it sparked a cool brief convo.
To me, the aforementioned are positives. We all have our style.
If sneakers aren't your thing, then cool.
For me, I look @ it this way.
Regardless of what I am wearing, I will never have a dirty pair of kicks! I like em clean & fresh!
But, that's me!
