Yes, you rather have the $100k than the $60k. But there is no bump in quality of life that people make it seem. It's an overrated milestone
Like what's the difference?
- Wow, now you can buy clothes/shoes that are $50-$100 more expensive
- Wow, you can buy slightly better electronics
- Wow, you can have 15 streaming subscriptions instead of 5
- Wow, you can go to a fancy restaurant 20 times a month instead of 3 times a month
I've learned over the years, the true way to improve your quality of life is Investing. It's literally the only way. If you are not making high risk investments and making consistent returns, you will not change your life that much
At the end of the day, to make the big purchases and big swings to improve your quality of life, you still will need a loan, credit card, or monthly payments to own it just like anyone making under $100k a year. Being able to pay for a couple more 1st class airplane flights doesn't change that
