I don't think there's one great rapper that isn't influenced by greats before them. Big Pun ls a direct son to Kool G Rap style n nobody ever hates all I see is love here whenever they bring him up. I don't wanna move goalposts cause Em a whiteboy let's be completely objective
There’s nobody in any field ever who wasn’t influenced by what came before them. It’s what it’s the dumbest argument ever.

True but I'm just highlighting the difference between Jay getting criticized and not Em. And Em did it more blatantly.

I don't like Jay Z but this couldn't be further from the truth..

If it's one thing Jay got, it's Hella flows

Jay was getting criticized for literally saying biggie rhymes and used young Chris flow besides that he more than holds his own it was always a bad argument. Nobody even cared he used to rap like Fu Shnickens. Even still, how we give Big Pun a pass for literally rapping like G Rap but we criticize others for supposedly being influenced by multiple mcs? Interesting
