it is just getting sad now. In April the number of people not in the labor force rose by a whopping 522,000 from 87,897,000 to
88,419,000. This is the highest on record. The flip side, and the reason why the unemployment dropped to 8.1% is that the labor force participation rate just dipped to a new 30 year low of 64.3%.

They were just talking about that on the news today. The unemployment rate is the number of people unemployed and actively seeking employment. The reason why it's dropped is because a shytload of people simply gave up looking.

sad but true. America needs more innovators / risk takers or job creators. People need to stop asking for jobs and figure out how to create, ones. This is still the land of opportunity.

I also point to the fact that the globalization of corporations will be the downfall of the economy. Not to mention, with technology expanding at an alarming rat, There's a differently a grey area, for new industries to spring up. It's all about moving forward.
