CM Punk? He doesn't need to beat Taker. He's already a main eventer.

Same for Bryan, Cena, and Del Rio. They're already over as ex-champs. There's zero reason to give them something like this.

There are only a few guys who would truly BENEFIT from the opportunity.

Sandow is one -- he has the chops to be main event, and if he won he could promo on some, "I outsmarted death" shyt.

The other obvious choice is Ziggler.

So you would have Damien Sandow, who was getting clowned on by DX and others earlier in the year mind you, and is being built up in the tag team division (where they should win this sunday) to suddenly get into a fued with the Undertaker (How would you do that) and defeat him when the likes of HBK, HHH, Batista, Orton (The legend Killer) all could not do that?

Sandow has not been properly built up has a credible threat or draw to get into the ring with Taker at WM let alone beat the man and end the streak, which is one of the biggest cash cow's the company has.

I'm a big fan of Sandow and he's def. gon be a major player in the future but at some of the ppl cats want taker to face and to be beaten by.

You say CM Punk doesnt need to beat Taker. I would actually argue that he needs to or would atleast make sense storyline wise for him to do so. Yes, Punk is a main eventer now in the WWE but he isnt at the top tier legend status that a Taker, Rock, Austin, HHH etc is. He now has the "wwe streak" gimmick in his bag and a win against Taker could take him to the next level. Plus, its a match that makes sense and could draw at this year's WM.

Do I see WWE ever pulling the trigger on that? No way in hell. But out of the current people on the roster that are not Attitude Era Legends then only Punk and Cena could beat Taker. Orton had it years ago with that Legend Killer gimmick but they didnt pull that trigger on that either.

CM Punk beating Taker won't elevate him to Attitude Era status. NOTHING will elevate anyone to Attitude Era status in the modern WWE. It's a different audience, a different ratings trend, and a different time. Even if Cena beats the Rock, he won't be the Rock.

You may as well use it to bump someone from upper-mid to main event because creating a new Stone Cold under the current regime isn't possible.
