Good luck, ladies: Nearly HALF of men admit their ideal woman would have a BELOW-average weight - and the older they get, the younger they want their partners to be
  • Superdrug Online Doctor asked over 1,100 people in the US and Europe about their ideal hypothetical romantic partner
  • Many men prefer a woman with below-average weight who is considerably younger than they are
  • Most women want a man who is above-average height
  • Despite these presences, the words most-used to describe an ideal partner were 'funny' and 'smart' for both sexes

A new study of what men and women are looking for in a partner doesn't do a whole lot to dispel stereotypes.

Superdrug Online Doctor asked over 1,100 people in the US and Europe about their ideal hypothetical romantic partner and found that generally, men are looking for ladies who are thinner than average — and considerably younger.

Meanwhile, women tend to want men who are taller than average, with over half wishing for a guy who is six feet or taller.

Shallow: Men said they wanted women with below-average weight, and who are generally much younger than they are

When asked to describe their ideal partner by weight, almost half (47 per cent) of men said they prefer a woman who is of below-average weight, compared to 42 per cent who chose average weight.

Women, on the other hand, prefer a man who's average on the scale (67 per cent), and are even slightly more forgiving of a partner who is above-average (15 per cent, compared to 11 per cent of men).

But while men may have high expectations for a woman's slenderness, women have high expectations for a partner's height.

Seventy-seven per cent of women said their ideal partner is above-average height (versus 21 per cent who said average). Men prefer their women right in the middle, height-wise, with 40 per cent saying 'average' is their ideal.

So how many inches are best? Exactly half of women said their ideal partner is six feet tall or taller (though many others were also quite happy with a man who is 5'10").

Phew! Luckily, the top important attributes for both sexes weren't shallow ones

For men, the ideal partner is 5'4", though over a third said a woman who is 5'8" would make them most happy.

Women also responded that they are looking for men who are more muscular than average — though both sexes prefer a partner with above-average athleticism.

They survey also examined attitudes toward facial hair in men — with the most, 30 per cent, preferring a guy who is clean shaven — but it explored more than just physical attributes.

When it comes to age, women tend to want a man who is just a tiny bit older, no matter her age. But men nearly always prefer a younger woman — and the older they get, the younger they expect their women to be.

For example, 23-year-old women said they'd like a man 3.4 years older than they are, 35-year-old women said 2.2 years, and 44-year-old women said 2.3 years older.

Realistic: Also, many men sand women said it's not incredibly important that their partners match their 'ideal' preferences

It goes to show human beings are so out of touch they don't really know what "average" is anymore.

Now ironically enough the highest percentile with height for women was 5'10. Like 30% of them said their ideal was the average height man, and like 16% said 5'8.

So basically slightly over 50% want 6'0 and up, and just under 50% want average height or shorter. This isn't that illogical, it just points to women thinking 6'0 is closer to average than it really is, and a fascination with the number.

Ngl, men are the ones that look moronic as fukk with these kinds of studies. How on earth is a 5'8 woman the desired height when the vast majority are below that. 5'8 is like the 6'1 equivalent for men or something. And over half wanted a legit anorexic woman to boot.

Cac men are living in a fantasy world and I hope they never wake up. They even placed height as a determining factor for their attraction to their woman more than some personality traits. The women didn't even put it that high. Sheesh.

All I got from this, is that of all the people that took this survey and laid out what their ideal type was to the T ... the majority -- meaning, more than half -- indicated that the person they were currently with was either not their type, or didn't check off most of the boxes.

So, either somebody's lying about their type, or there's a lot of settling/cheating going on.

I'm beginning to think you may actually have down syndrome or something. Very few of your posts are logical or follow any real narrative.

Dissecting numbers that are literally put in front of you in graph and chart format isn't some next-level form of comprehension. It's like third-grade level analytics.

And if you actually read the post you'd find I looked at both sides evenly... you know? The way a rational adult would?

Women wanting a man above average height = not illogical

Man wanting above average height = gets you hot under the collar

You claimed men in this study value height more than women yet men listed several 6 or 7 traits before height even came up while women listed height 3rd :comeon:

Just stop talking :mjlol:
