UFC helped grow mma and destroy it at the same damn time.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
It was thought that mma would take over boxing etc. And for a while it could have been looked at as a legit argument but at this point... its not even close.

Dana White helped make mma mainstream but the UFC as an organization has also helped diminish what could have been. And here's why.

1. Because the UFC came out the gate desperate for revenue, they routinely pit the best fighters against each other and it eventually became the norm. It's good for fans in the short term but bad in the long run because you consistently wear out your top fighters and open them up for loses. With boxing, or any fight for that matter its all about the build up and anticipation. That's why boxers have tune up matches, that's why they have promoters and that's why some fighters make way more than others. Because the UFC controlled all of the promotion they basically wore their big names out too soon.

2. UFC basically trying to monopolize MMA. They only worked with fighters who signed with them, keeping big names from even fighting in the prime. Fedor never got a chance to fight the best fighters in the UFC. And the UFC shytted on the other leagues by claiming they had all of the best fighters. Which is really :mjpls: when you consider the fact that they even allowed someone like Kimbo Slice to get put on with them :scusthov:. At the end of the day discrediting other mma leagues when the sport is still trying to grow is bad for the sport.

3. They suck at promoting their fighters. And yeah, you can talk about their biggest stars, but most of them are successful in spite of the MMA. They also alienate so many demographics.

I can go on and on but I've said enough. Even without a lot of big stars in boxing right now, its still decades ahead of mma.

You make some valid points. But the UFC always puts the best against the best is just a BS excuse for lack of talent in the sport.

Look at how hyped AB was as the new face in boxing, he already has two losses and still hasn't become a ppv attraction.

jon jones is undefeated for nearly ten years now and he's been champion for 5. That's on par with a lot of boxing champions.

Dana White markets UFC has been more exciting because of finishes and boxing is boring because of decisions

Not true.

The Most finishes KO and submissions combined in the UFC is 14, held by Vitor Belfor and Anderson Silva.

Floyd Mayweather is suppose to be the boring decision machine, yet he has 26 KO's on his career lmao, nearly double that of the UFC RECORD

When you run a campaign based on lies, it will eventually catch up to you.

People claim boxers are inactive and MMA fighters are always fighting.

Which is not true. You look at the records and see boxers fight way more.

Conor Mcgregor got props for fighting 3 times year when he first entered UFC and he wore like some kind of badge of honor.

When Floyd turned bro he fought 17 times in one year.

Boxing is a sport that exists without the mainstream media, UFC relies on mainstream media for relevance, that is where they went wrong by trying to get the quick buck.

Floyd actually paid dues and it took many fights for him to build his rep up. He went from a young up and coming boxer to a main attractions. The only thing I don't like about boxing is fighters who duck other fighters but at the same time you have to build your rep. Otherwise nobody wants to pay to see you fight. If you build your brand the right way people will pay to see you lose as much as people pay to see you win. It's win win either way.

The mma has enough fighters as it is a global sport but the mma chose to only focus on its organization think they will be the face of a sport they didn't even create. :mjpls: and because casual fans equate mma to the UFC brand only they tend to shun fighters who aren't in that organization and it's sad.

The MMA has been reduced to its biggest start just 6 months ago begging a retired boxer for 100 million to box him :russ:

Zuffa has done a great job of developing themselves as a brand, and not their talent in their 15 year tenure. They carried the mentality of we don't care if you aren't here, we are the biggest are will move on without you. All of their fighters are paid shyt, and they've bought up all other promotions, so there was really no where else to go, both money-wise, and competition-wise. And it's worked, outside of Fedor there haven't really been too many "must-see" fighters that needed to be in UFC. We are beginning to see fighters calling for a union, file class action lawsuits, and even non-washed up fighters leaving for Bellator, so you can see why there are rampant rumors of a sale in the past couple years.

Whether the "ducking" and politicking of 2 promotions adds to the anticipation and money making in boxing, dissing on UFC for making the best fight the best all the time is not something I would do as a fight fan. I mean sure Mayweather/Pacman ended up making way more money 10 years later, but I didn't really wanna see it like I did when they were in their prime...

But make no mistake, I do want UFC to fall back major, so I can finally cop another Fight Night game. :blessed:

Well the fallacy is that Zuffa was trying to build MMA. Ultimately they were and are trying to build the UFC brand.
