UPDATE:
Nico Montana was transported to the hospital during her weight cut. Subsequently the Championship fight with Valentina Shevchenko was canceled and there was no replacement opponent for Valentina - who of course wants to fight for the belt as intended.

Hours later Dana White communicated that "Nico Montana will vacate the title and that Valentina Shevchenko will fight for the vacant title

It was clear all week that Shevchenko did not believe Montana would show up for the fight, and ultimately she was right. "I knew she would do this from the very beginning”

The new Co-Main Event for UFC 228 will be Jessica Andrade - Karolina Kowalkiewicz.

ORIGINAL POST
The 170 Welterweight and the Women's 125 Flyweight Championships are on the line.

Tyron 'The Chosen One' Woodley, the only black UFC champion, is putting his title on the line against Darren 'The Gorilla' Till.

His last fights (2 vs Thompson, 1 vs Maia) were highly strategic and actually, honestly quite boring BUT
  • He's the only black UFC champion we got - so we better support him to the muthafukking fullest because there's not 1 black dude in the UFC that's even anywhere near a title shot
  • In his interviews and all the previews.. damn.. he looks like the OLD Woodley. He's got that killer mindset back that had him knocking Lawler through the damn Octagon. He's not 'whining' (I'm not talking about the racism stuff because he's totally right) he is just FOCUSED.
The big question is: can Darren Till actually make 170. 2 days away from the fight he says he weighs 182. That's not too heavy, but Woodley says he has seen him struggle already when they were both working out in the hotel they are staying in.

My money's on Woodley, not just because he's a brother - but because he is the ultimate professional and has the experience.

GREAT interview with the champ

In the Co-Main Event we have Nicco Montana vs Valentina 'The Bullet' Shevchenko.

Montana is the BIGGEST Champion Las Vegas underdog of all time

Valentina should've gotten the nod against Nunes, everybody knows this. But now she's at her natural weight and everybody is expecting a serious beating and a one-sided fight. Will Montana shock the world or will Bullet FINALLY get her UFC belt?

NOTABLE OTHER FIGHTS:
Zabit Magomedsharipov - Brandon Davis (stepping in for an injured Yair Rodrigues)
Jessica Andrade - Karolina Kowalkiewicz
Carla Esparza - Tatiana Suarez
Aljamain sterling - Cody Stamann
Jimmie Rivera - John Dodson

12 pounds in 40 hours is gonna be tough. He might be drained for the fight. I don't get some of these guys and their weight cut issues

I think Woodley wins a decision. They've both shown that they have no problem playing a "chess game:comeon:" and fighting a boring ass fight. Woodleys bested the GOAT of "chess games :comeon:" Thompson twice. Tyron is just better at playing that game.
