[ame=http://youtu.be/0ctEQqlf2xw]"No NATO, No War": U.S. Veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan Return War Medals at NATO Summit - YouTube[/ame]

DemocracyNow.org - Democracy Now! broadcasts from Chicago, site of the largest NATO summit in the organization's six-decade history. On Sunday, veterans of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, as well as members of Afghans For Peace, led a peace march of thousands of people. Iraq Veterans Against the War held a ceremony where nearly 50 veterans discarded their war medals by hurling them down the street in the direction of the NATO summit. We hear the soldiers' voices as they return their medals one by one from the stage. "I am giving back my global war on terror service medal in solidarity with the people of Iraq and Afghanistan," said Jason Heard, a former combat medic who spent 10 years in the U.S. Army. "I am deeply sorry for the destruction that we have caused in these countries and around the globe."

soldiers... i love the Army. but they aint us. never will be. as hard as they try to be.

Semper Fi Devil Doc to the fukkin' grave.

Question, not trolling: When I was in the Army, every time I saw Marines downrange or on base they looked fukkin' miserable. I know Soldiers get treated like shyt(especially infantry), but it looked like they used to WHIP the Marines, breh. Why is that?

Oh yeah, and it was usually the white Marines. The Black ones were cool as shyt.:win:

i'm not a Marine. I used to be a Field Corpsman. Which is basically a Navy Medic for the Marines. But to a degree you're kinda right. i wouldnt go as far as saying we were miserable, but life was hell during training and workups. But your perspective changes when you get to Al-Asad or Leatherneck. you kinda realize why SSGT, HM1, HMC, Gunny, SGTMAJ, and the CMC was in your ass. Attention to detail. I'm a firm believer in "One Team, One fight".

I'd be lying to you if i told you i didnt miss it.
