what am i supposed to take from this other than we seem nowhere near actually being serious about moving away from fossil fuels?
Well, the last 4 years were a setback.
We obviously produce enough, but consume more and more.
I see why there's a push for EV's and higher gas mileage vehicles.
US based companies produce more than enough oil for our country to be energy independent but they export so much that the country still has to import and buy from other countries. While that is happening our tax dollars are paying subsidies to these extremely profitable companies. The only reason our gas prices are so high is profit motive.
the US and Canada are gonna have to do a Lend-Lease kinda thing with fuel like we did with war supplies in WW2.
yeah there's no way we need to import oil based on the number of people wfh now. I bet I don't go through a full tank of gas in a month or 2.
