We really should crowdsource scientific research. Have every person on earth with internet access participate in a science experiment. Someone posts a scientific problem on a website and people just come up with solutions.
I truly believe that anything can be accomplished when you utilize the collective intellectual capacity of the human race. We went from being cave dwellers to sending probes to mars. Nothing is beyond our reach. It's just that government involvement and anti-intellectualism has stood in the way of true scientific progress.
No.
First of all, this isnt like coding computers.
We're talking about shyt that has THE HIGHEST stakes in what humans value.
Life.
There is an innate barrier to knowledge and learning curve that MUST be established to make strides.
Theres enough dumbasses online who think they understand
what they dont understand and I don't feel comfortable knowing amateurs are trying to contribute without knowing the basics.[DOUBLEPOST=1397680123][/DOUBLEPOST]
Some people aren't even interested in science and can choose not to participate. I don't think scientific research should be exclusive to people with PhDs and millions of grant money. People who are far less intelligent can come up with an outlandish solution that can work (thinking outside the box).
Also my idea to adhere to 'free market' rules where all of the proposed bad solutions or solutions proven to not work are weeded out (downvoted perhaps). I think it would be a grave mistake to underestimate humankind.
My idea isn't new. I think it's called 'open source science' or something. The idea is to grant normal people access to scientific research as the mainstream scientific community has been infiltrated by special interests who fund psuedo-science to push their agenda.

This sounds like a transient approach from someone who doesn't understand or participate in science.
Theres a lot of shyt you gotta master before you're even able to contribute to researcher MEANINGFULLY.
I think a lot of science journalism has you all convinced that this shyt is easier than it really is.[DOUBLEPOST=1397680249][/DOUBLEPOST]
who needs the NIH, just abolish the government and let everyone do their own science experiments at home
I swear these dudes just say the most troll worthy shyt.
I DO NOT want my neighbors contributing to AIDS research
