Tyronn Lue Tells Kyrie Irving And Kevin Love To Stop Worrying About Their Brand

This is an interesting way to start your tenure as the head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

In an interview with Cleveland.com, newly appointed head coach Tyronn Lue said that Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving have been focusing too much on their brand.

Talking about the Celtics’ Big 3 of Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce, Lue said that his Big 3 weren’t quite like that. Not yet.

“With our young stars, with Kyrie and Kevin, they’re young, so it’s still about their brand and different things, it’s just way different,” Lue said.



Lue said he wasn’t speaking behind Love and Irving’s backs, either. He said he addressed the team directly and told them this.

“I talked to our team about, ‘if you win, everybody’s brand is better,’ ” Lue said. “If you win as a unit, everybody gets credit for it.”

The Cavaliers seemed to respond at least in their most recent game, hanging on to beat the Timberwolves.
