Tunnel Mixtape Idea- Also where we might have gone wrong.....

I was thinking about a way we could put work in but not be stressed out due to time constraints. 1 beat per month is reasonable right? Looking at the horror tape, we had about 12 producers, if we had even 6 producers submit 1 beat a month for 3 months. There's a tape right there if not more.

Its an insane thought but if we had 12 producers and we submitted 1 beat a month for 6 months then in July 2016 we could start churning out mixtapes like No Limit in 98'. (That's 72 to beats we could put on collaborative tapes and release them on the coli every other week, or shyt every month until the end of 2016)

Also where we have gone wrong is that in the battles we have had, sample battles, trap battles, freestyle battles......there has never been a recap--for instance we need someone to collect the soundclouds/audiomacks (with permissions) to create a tape of the best of each series.

Im sure the interest is out there, but new users and even old users arent trying to sift through all the threads to listen to individually uploaded songs, some which have been removed and it could be made easier with the "best of" or in case you missed it "Best of Coli Sample Battle featuring 4 weeks of the top 3 finalists"

1 beat per month......Easy right?

That's a good idea breh, but with a month time limit, cats should be able to create actual songs in that time frame lol instead of just a 2 minute beat loop lol.

The recap concept is nice too, but the vibe ain't right in order for that to work now. nikkas only care about their own beats and don't really comment or give feedback to others in here like we used to.
@KillSpray and @clanarchy as well as @KushSkywalker all dropped new music recently (within the last month) and those threads flopped harder than a Lil Zane album and those 3 dudes are easily top 10 on the coli for production.

As for the Horror Tape, there were several producers in the original thread that posted up dope beats, but a month and a half later when it was time for cats to just enable them for download so I can put all the songs together, they never did. So I could only roll with the 9 or 10 producers that did. That tape started out with about 20 different producers only to dwindle down to about 10. That was missed opportunity right there because we needed more of the heavy hitters and vets from this place to participate in that.

There's only 3 things that will turn this place around.

1. Posters start engaging more with each other and give feedback when music/threads are posted and to return the favor with daps/critique
2. Posters start collabing more and helping each other
3 Get the booth mods to sticky some threads in that forum so the traffic can spill over here.

When those things are happening, this place is popping.
One none of those things happen, we get the shyt we're dealing with now. (barren wasteland filled with struggle threads)

Yeah I got a whole idea like this.

I think we should do monthly podcast. We take the podcast and post it on soundcloud/youtube to leverage a wider audience.

The coli is a great starting base but it gets tiresome just submitting beats and we need some new blood, especially some rappers. Lets make things more interactive, wider and entertaining! We have to think beyond the coli and flip it into something bigger.

Going forward when we have any type of battle at the end of it, hell during it permissions for download need to be on atleast until a mod or person in charge of the battle gives the individual message via pm that is ok to disable download therefore when its all over we can have a mixtape of the top 3 finishes week to week and shyt. Especially with the freestyle battles, how long that went and the people that went in, theres no reason there isnt/wasnt a coli freestyle mixtape--except that nobody had the idea to compile all those together.

Hell you can do the best off feature the top 3 winners of each week then at the end of 4-5 weeks however long it went have 12-15 tracks. and the rest can be put on compilation mixtapes because they mattered too.

Podcasts and mixtapes are dope ideas and we need to expand and get shyt popping again, but at the end of the day everybody gotta show some type of commitment to support it.

That's the thing with the coli, cats will have epic great ideas for days, but when it's time to implement shyt and follow through, somehow shyt ends up missing the mark.
