Sorry, that's another B
This is the sample
Now it doesn't sound like he just sampled it, did he grab the acapella ? I can't tell
I'm thinking if he just sped up the sample the drums would clash with his right ?
The thing that I can't really grasp is the filtering. How is he filtering out the drums and keeping the vocals sounding untouched ? It can't be a simple low pass can it ?I don't think much is going here except for the volume.
It sound like he just chopped up the sample, pitched it up, filtered out the lows, boosted some highs and laid his drum.
The tricky part is the volume. It's ducking like crazy at certain points. I'm guessing he's side-chaining the kick to the track during the chorus, giving it that fadein/fadeout feeling. Could be moving the faders by hand too.
Not a great mix imo, but somehow it still came out sounding kinda dope.
It would be a High Pass filter to get rid of the lows, then he adds his own kick and bass. The thing that I can't really grasp is the filtering. How is he filtering out the drums and keeping the vocals sounding untouched ? It can't be a simple low pass can it ?
Yea high pass my bad and yea you're making sense. Gonna try to remake this tomorrowIt would be a High Pass filter to get rid of the lows, then he adds his own kick and bass.
The original track only has a simple kick snare rhythm. He cuts them out and put his kick pattern over the sample.

Aite so I decided to try a hand at it. Props to this lovibe dude. I wanted to take it step by step so I took the first 4 bars on for now. I'll continue it later and see what happens. Couple things I realized. I feel like he probably played the drums out from start to finish because the tempo isn't consistent throughout the track. Secondly there's a snare in the actual Kelly Price record that hits on the 3. I realized it's still there in the lovibe track but whatever filter he used makes it sound like percussion it's pretty dope.
Sorry about the excess wav, I didn't realize I exported all of that
EDIT : I should've brought the snare up in the mix too
