Jaron Ennis-Karen Chukhadzhian Co-Feature For Davis-Garcia PPV Show January 7

Jaron Ennis will take a significant step January 7 toward securing a legitimate welterweight title shot.
BoxingScene.com has learned that the talented contender from Philadelphia will fight Ukraine’s Karen Chukhadzhian that night for the IBF interim 147-pound championship. Their 12-round fight will be the co-feature of a Showtime Pay-Per-View telecast that Gervonta Davis and Hector Luis Garcia will headline at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C.
The Ennis-Chukhadzhian contest is expected to be officially announced Monday in Washington as part of a press conference to promote the Davis-Garcia event.
Ennis (29-0, 27 KOs, 1 NC) is ranked number one among the IBF’s welterweight contenders for champion Errol Spence Jr., who owns the WBA and WBC belts as well. Chukhadzhian (21-1, 11 KOs) is ranked fourth by the IBF, but he is the leading available contender to face Ennis because the second spot in the IBF’s rankings is unoccupied and third-rated Vergil Ortiz Jr. is expected to face Eimantas Stanionis next for the unbeaten Lithuanian’s WBA world welterweight title.
The 25-year-old Ennis is a heavy favorite to beat Chukhadzhian. The emerging Ennis obviously would prefer to challenge Spence for his belts, but beating Chukhadzhian for the IBF’s interim title would give Ennis leverage in his pursuit of a fight against Spence (28-0, 22 KOs).
The 32-year-old Spence is expected to face longtime rival Keith Thurman next. Thurman (30-1, 22 KOs, 1 NC), a former WBA/WBC champ from Clearwater, Florida, was named the WBC’s mandatory challenger for Spence at its annual convention last month in Acapulco, Mexico.
Ennis is considered a high-risk, low-reward proposition for the 32-year-old Spence, whose high-profile fight with Terence Crawford fell apart late in October. Ennis isn’t affiliated with Al Haymon’s Premier Boxing Champions, either, which has made it more difficult for his handlers to secure fights against PBC-backed boxers like Spence and Thurman.
In his most recent action, Ennis knocked out previously unbeaten Canadian contender Custio Clayton (19-1-1, 12 KOs) in the second round May 14 at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California.
The 26-year-old Chukhadzhian, a Kiev native who resides in Germany, has won 20 straight bouts since he lost his second professional fight in April 2015. Chukhadzhian hasn’t beaten a legitimate welterweight contender, however, since his three-round, split-decision defeat to Andrii Velikovskyi in Velikovskyi’s pro debut as part of the “Super 8” junior middleweight tournament in Kiev.

Andrade-Nicholson, Ellis-Villa Added To Tank-Garcia Showtime PPV Telecast

Demetrius Andrade will make his super middleweight debut on what would’ve been considered the unlikeliest of platforms this time a year ago.
BoxingScene.com has learned that Andrade has agreed to fight veteran Demond Nicholson in a 10-round bout on the Gervonta Davis-Hector Luis Garcia undercard January 7 in Washington, D.C. Andrade-Nicholson will be one of three bouts Showtime will televise as part of the Davis-Garcia undercard from Capital One Arena.
The entire pay-per-view undercard is expected to be announced Monday, before a press conference in Washington, D.C. to promote the Davis-Garcia show.
In addition to the bout between Andrade (31-0, 19 KOs) and Nicholson (26-4-1, 22 KOs), unbeaten welterweight contender Rashidi Ellis (24-0, 15 KOs), of Lynn, Massachusetts, will face Venezuelan veteran Roiman Villa (25-1, 24 KOs) in a 10-rounder. As BoxingScene.com first reported Monday morning, undefeated 147-pound contender Jaron Ennis (29-0, 27 KOs, 1 NC), of Philadelphia, is set to square off against Ukraine’s Karen Chukhadzhian (21-1, 11 KOs) in the Davis-Garcia co-feature, a 12-round fight for the IBF interim welterweight title.
Andrade, 34, will fight for the first time since his contract with Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom Boxing and DAZN expired. The former WBO middleweight champion hasn’t boxed since last November 19, when he stopped Ireland’s Jason Quigley (19-2, 14 KOs) in the second round at South New Hampshire University Arena in Manchester, New Hampshire.
The southpaw from Providence, Rhode Island was supposed to box England’s Zach Parker for the WBO interim super middleweight title on May 21. Andrade withdrew from that bout due to a shoulder injury and Parker (22-1, 16 KOs) eventually lost to fellow Brit John Ryder (32-5, 18 KOs) by fifth-round technical knockout due to a hand injury November 26 at O2 Arena in London.
Andrade relinquished his WBO middleweight title earlier this year, rather than partaking in a mandated title defense against Janibek Alimkhanuly (13-0, 8 KOs), who was then the WBO’s interim champion. Kazakhstan’s Alimkhanuly was elevated from interim champion once Andrade decided to remain in the super middleweight division.

Colbert's Trainer Urges Gervonta Davis To Take Hector Garcia Seriously

davis-hector-garcia%20(5).jpg

BY HANS THEMISTODE
Published Wed Dec 07, 2022, 08:27 PM EST
The wait has been both long and excruciating. But after years of fulminating in the public eye, Ryan Garcia and Gervonta Davis recently announced that their long-awaited showdown is agreed upon.
According to both, the pair will lock horns at a catchweight of 136-pounds with a date of April 15th, set as the ideal target. In the interim, Davis and Garcia will attempt to remain sharp.
In the case of Davis, the hard-hitting star from Baltimore, Maryland, has placed Hector Luis Garcia firmly in his sights. Officially, the two will face off in the Showtime PPV main event slot on January 7th, in Washington D.C.
Naturally, Davis (27-0, 25 KOs) has emerged as an overwhelming favorite. Yet, despite his chances of victory being viewed as miniscule, Garcia is just fine with flying under the radar.
While most of the boxing world has looked past the 31-year-old Dominican, Aureliano Sosa, head trainer of current 130-pound contender, Chris Colbert, refuses to summarily dismiss the chances of Garcia.
In what appeared to be nothing more than a routine stroll in the park, Colbert confidently sauntered to the ring against Garcia earlier this year. Though he was widely expected to trample over the former fringe contender with relative ease, Colbert came out listless as a motivated Garcia rolled to a lopsided unanimous decision victory.
Bemused by what took place, Sosa has gained a newfound respect for what Garcia brings to the table. Considering that Garcia would go on to parlay his victory over the flamboyant Colbert into a world title win against Roger Gutierrez, Sosa is convinced that if Davis isn't careful, he could be in for a long and arduous night.
“I’m surprised they picked Hector,” said Sosa during an interview with BoxingScene.com. “Hector is definitely a tough fight, he’s one person they should not take lightly. It’s not gonna be an easy fight for Tank.”
Primed and ready for what appears to be a star-studded schedule in 2023, Davis is hopeful that the inactivity that plagued him this year, appearing in just one bout, will be a thing of the past. Still, even with just six rounds of work this year, Davis made the most of his bleak time slot.
On May 28th, in front of a roaring crowd in Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, Davis rendered longtime rival, Rolando “Rolly” Romero, unconscious. Ultimately, in spite of his concussive knockout power, Sosa doesn't envision Garcia suffering the same brutal fate, at least not in the first few rounds.
While he expects Garcia to defiantly stand up against Davis and his pernicious blows, at some point, the renowned trainer believes that the former multi-divisional star will eventually give his adoring fans the sort of bloodthirsty finish that they're hoping for.
“Tank is gonna have a little problem but the difference is, Tank has that equalizer. Anytime during the fight the equalizer lands, it’s over. It’s gonna be a hard fight but I think Tank will get him in the late rounds and probably stop him.”

Vito Mielnicki Jr. To Fight Omar Rosales On Davis-Garcia Undercard 1/7 In Washington, D.C.

BY KEITH IDEC
Published Tue Dec 13, 2022, 11:11 AM EST
Vito Mielnicki Jr. will remain active on another high-profile show next month.

BoxingScene.com has confirmed that the 20-year-old junior middleweight will oppose Omar Rosales on the Gervonta Davis-Hector Luis Garcia undercard January 7 in Washington, D.C. The 10-round bout between Mielnicki (13-1, 8 KOs) and Rosales (9-1-1, 5 KOs) is expected to be streamed on Showtime’s YouTube channel just before the start of the pay-per-view portion of the Davis-Garcia undercard at Capital One Arena.

It’ll be the fifth fight in 12 months for Mielnicki, who has won five consecutive fights since Philadelphia’s James Martin upset him by majority decision in an eight-rounder in April 2021 in Los Angeles. Mielnicki, of Roseland, New Jersey, comfortably beat Limberth Ponce (19-6, 11 KOs) by unanimous decision in his last fight, a 10-rounder October 15 on the Deontay Wilder-Robert Helenius undercard at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Houston’s Rosales got off to a 9-0 start after launching his career in August 2020. He is 0-1-1 in his past two fights, including a six-round split draw with San Antonio’s Bryan Springs (3-5-2, 1 KO) on June 17 in Houston.

Mielnicki-Rosales will probably be one of three fights Showtime will stream on its YouTube channel before the four-fight pay-per-view show starts.

Before Baltimore’s Davis (27-0, 25 KOs) defends his WBA world lightweight title against the Dominican Republic’s Garcia (16-0, 10 KOs, 3 NC) in the 12-round main event, Philadelphia’s Jaron Ennis (29-0, 27 KOs, 1 NC) is set to face Ukraine’s Karen Chukhadzhian (21-1, 11 KOs) in the 12-round co-feature for the IBF interim welterweight title.

Former WBO middleweight champ Demetrius Andrade also will box Demond Nicholson in a 10-round bout on the pay-per-view undercard. Andrade (31-0, 19 KOs), a 2008 U.S. Olympian from Providence, Rhode Island, will make his debut at the super middleweight limit of 168 pounds against Nicholson (26-4-1, 22 KOs), of Laurel, Maryland.

Showtime’s pay-per-view telecast will begin with a 10-rounder in which welterweight contender Rashidi Ellis (24-0, 15 KOs), of Lynn, Massachusetts, will square off against Venezuelan knockout artist Roiman Villa (25-1, 24 KOs).

breh if i posted the odds itself from other places for these 4 fights, you think the odds will be close?

He's clowning the card for other reasons.

One look at his Twitter page would show you that. :mjpls:

If the headliners for this event looked like him he wouldn't say a word
