Timothy Mellon, a billionaire trust fund baby whose great-grandfather built the family wealth, is the biggest pro-Trump political donor in recent memory. He has already poured in $15 million to Trump's 2024 reelection campaign, $20 million to RFK Jr's election campaign (under the theory that RFK Jr's candidacy will hurt Biden), and $50 million to help Trump "build the wall" (over 90% of the total donations to that effort). In 2022, a non-presidential year, he contributed $42 million to Republican election causes. In total, he's donated over $150 million to pro-Trump causes since 2020.

What does the person who wants Trump and Republicans to control the nation think of Black folk? He told us in his own self-published 2015 memoir. Speaking of the state of the country in 1984, he wrote:

"Something had obviously gone dreadfully wrong with the Great Society and the Liberal onslaught. Poor people had become no less poor. Black people, in spite of heroic efforts by the ‘Establishment’ to right the wrongs of the past, became even more belligerent and unwilling to pitch in to improve their own situations."

"Drugs rose to the level of epidemic. Single parent families became more and more prevalent. The likes of Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton pandered endlessly to fan the flames."

“For delivering their votes in the Federal Elections, they are awarded with yet more and more freebies: food stamps, cell phones, WIC payments, Obamacare, and on, and on, and on. The largess is funded by the hardworking folks, fewer and fewer in number, who are too honest or too proud to allow themselves to sink into this morass.”

I'm in the process of doing a deep dive on his origins, I think his wealth originated in a racist too.

This man bytching about "hardworking folks" is from a billionaire family who is only rich because their great-grandfather Thomas Mellon got rich in the 1800s. What did Thomas Mellon think of Black folk?

After the Civil War, Thomas toured the South, where he was disgusted to see Louisiana’s Legislature captured by what he called “stolid, stupid, rude and awkward field negroes, lolling on the seats or crunching peanuts.” He wrote that these representatives were puppets of white Northerners who were using “corrupt schemes to rob the property owners and taxpayers.”

“I see nothing but evil likely to result to both races from their being kept and encouraged to remain promiscuously inhabiting the same territory, I would do nothing whatever to promote it."

Thomas Mellon's son, Andrew Mellon, inherited the family wealth and became a major political donor in the early 1920s, pushing Warren G. Harding to the presidency and bribing him to give him the slot as Treasury Secretary in the process. Mellon became insanely powerful and served as Treasury Secretary under the next three presidents....who just happen to be three of the worst presidents in history: Harding, Coolidge and Hoover.

Andrew held the position for the next 11 years, from 1921 to 1932 — longer than anyone in the history of the country (or as Nebraska Senator George Norris once acidly put it, “three presidents served under Mellon”).

Andrew was intent on cutting taxes. He was an early prophet of “trickle-down” economics, arguing that lowering taxes on companies and the wealthiest would spur investment that would lead to prosperity for the nation. “Taxes which are inherently excessive are not paid,” Andrew wrote in a book on taxation published while he was treasury secretary.

How did that turn out for them? Mellon's policies helped lead to the giant stock market crash of 1929 and the Great Depression of the 1930s. Of course, even though Mellon was at the center of power when the economy was destroyed, THEIR billionaire wealth was left mostly intact, and his grandson is still a billionaire destroying the country today.

I need to do more research, but it looks like his family has been involved in massive tax fraud too.

I did lol at the fact that he's worth over a billion and heir to a famous American dynasty, yet couldn't even get a publisher to give him a fake book deal.

His entire Wikipedia bio is just buying shytty companies and then selling them at a loss. I can't see a single thing he's accomplished in his entire life other than being born rich. Yet he talks down to Black people and immigrants who actually do all the work.

His rich grandfather was convicted of tax fraud and had to pay back $600,000. (over $12 million in today's dollars). Even tried to bribe FDR in the middle of the trial. Of course, he didn't serve a single day in jail.

Like @RickyDiBiase said, this is the caliber of rich folk that people are worshipping.

Yes. Drugs did rise to the level of epidemic --- because white people in government allowed it, and in some cases outright planned it. And chose to treat drug addicts as criminals rather than sick people.

Single parent families became more and more prevalent -- because white people in government and policing deliberately broke up homes and put fathers in prison on trumped up charges. Or if they did commit crimes, the judicial system gave them disproportionately harsher sentences.

Frankly, I can agree with this statements on the surface. But like all racist scumbag a$$holes, they routinely (and often purposely) draw the wrong conclusions by lying or omitting details.

They have a word for that in English: PROPAGANDA.
