So basically if you live in a state with weak criminal prosecutions of law enforcement you are screwed.

this is a legally illiterate promise, almost all prosecutions of cops are in state court where trump would have no power. he could lobby the doj to not charge cops but i can't think of any recent federal prosecutions where the state wasn't going after them too.

if he was referring to federal agents then it's a moot point, they already enjoy absolute immunity
