‘True Blood’ Star Rutina Wesley Ends 8-Year Marriage :mjpls:

Rutina Wesley is no longer sinking her teeth into marriage.
The 34-year-old actress, who is best known for playing Tara Thornton on the HBO vampire series "True Blood," filed for divorce from her husband of eight years, actor Jacob Fishel.


Wesley cited "irreconcilable differences" in the divorce papers, which were filed in Los Angeles Superior Court on August 16 and obtained by E! News. She listed their date of separation as July 22, and asked the court not to award her soon-to-be ex-husband spousal support.

The couple, who has no children, were married in June 2005 after meeting as students at Julliard.

"We were in the same class," she told Essence in 2010. "We thought, 'if we could spend four years together at this crazy school, then we can make it the rest of our lives.' He's an amazing actor, cook and husband. I enjoy him immensely."

However, in a recent feature in Us magazine, she hinted it wasn't love at first sight. On her list of 25 Things You Don't Know About Me published in June, the first item on her list was: "I hated my husband when we met in school. He was so good at Shakespeare. "
