Rumors abound in the #boxing business of a serious rift between Oscar De La Hoya and Richard Schaefer at Golden Boy...

I find it interesting that Oscar has changed his Twitter avi to the GBP logo and has been throwing verbal bouquets to HBO and Arum recently

For so long, Oscar was just the logo of GBP and an absentee owner, now he wants more control over his company. Is it too late? #boxing

For the record, I believe some of Haymon's clients like Maidana, Matthysse, Broner, do have GBP contracts. Others, don't... #boxing

The internal Strife at Golden Boy between Oscar De La Hoya and Richard Schaefer is really heating up, as the investors are backing Oscar in this ongoing saga. Look for Schaefer to resign under pressure or be fired. Schaefer will more than likely end up at Floyd Mayweather's promotional company, with Al Haymon's fighters that aren't tied to GBP in tow! This could get really ugly, including allegations that lead to lawsuits. At this point in time there's only speculation on how this will effect what is shown on Showtime relating to boxing. As more info comes out will post it here, as the boxing websites aren't writing anything on this because of fear that they won't be issued press credentials to GBP events if they write negativity about the problems at GBP. Interesting situation unfolding, let's see where the players land!
