first and foremost, i love that album :wow: top 5 album of this year.

secondly, I would be the first to tell you that I had no interest in a modern O.C. album before i heard Trophy. I'm not trying shyt on O.C.'s consistency and longevity but i do believe that Apollo Brown sparked fire into O.C. to have to return into the status he was in the mid 90's in this shyt.

Not saying that this shyt would work with all older rappers, but why can't more older rappers trust our new generation of acclaim producers?

like a Ice Cube and DJ Khalil album "even tho Ice Cube and DJ Muggs album would be nice too :whew:... but of course Muggs isnt young"

KRS One with Apollo Brown:yeshrug: "tho KRS One might be beat doing work with Buckwild after hearing nineteen ninety now..who is also a older producer"

CL Smooth and 9th Wonder :yeshrug:

Rakim and and No I.D. even tho No I.D. isnt young. Rakim himself even said that the youth is what keeps hip hop alive at the hip hop awards show. putting out The Seventh Seal fukk ruin it for the youth.

u know... rappers that didnt completely fell off, why can some of them give it another shot with some of our modern great producers. It would be nice to see if they can still bring it for their fans sake.

I drank too much to comment on the thread seriously...but I applaud the fact that you called that album top 5 this year. As long as officer ricky isn't one of the other four

Agreed.

The whole One MC, One Producer Mashup Album always piques my interest. Especially when its a bit random like Killer Mike x El-P, and OC x Apollo Brown

while i agree with the sentiment, that album pissed me off like no other

waited years for OC's return, and i get stuck with a producer that cant switch up drums and has no melodies. Apollo is trash, should have used Oddisee if he wanted to sign to that label

I love when people do that. I had never heard celph titled before but I definitely gave that buckwild album a listen. I liked it, will give it another listen soon.

Buckshot isnt O.C. status to me.

agreed o.c. was m.I.a. for a hot minute.

rarely do I consider an artist m.I.a. as long as they put out 1 song a year but he went years without ANY material.

he been around for a while but that doesnt mean he was old.

he was 33 in 2004

Bow wow been around for a while

I thought this was about veteran artists, not age. Rick Ross and 2 Chainz are both 36, but no one cares when they work with younger producers
