me too..since the pandemic “the story” was always Jey winning the title
The story was always Roman beating The Rock to solidify himself as the head of the table. Cody's story was always some made up bullshyt that never made sense. Jey's story was all about elevating him to being a top guy.

That made up bullshyt saved this year's WM and got Dwayne to act like the Rock again. Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson vs. Roman Reigns would have been eeeeeeh. The Final Boss vs. The Tribal Chief with a real story behind it is a much better match up all around.

It will probably lead to that Cody heel turn too when he loses the title to the Rock and Rock transitions it to Reigns and Cody feels like he's owed something and Roman will tell him to kick rocks. The fact that guys like Owens and Seth Rollins might have been right will drive him insane but it's won't even be the fact that they were right, it will really be the fact that he only helped Reigns because he no longer felt threatened by him and it would make him look altruistic without actually being so. You'll have to slow burn that a little bit of course but I can see it happening. Cody in the mix has made for a much better story than Dwayne Johnson coming in for a one off at Mania. We got the Final Boss, be happy about that.

We don't know what it would be since we didn't get anything between them. Also Rock saved Mania this year, and you can look at the Cody/Roman stuff without Rock to see just how boring it was.

I wouldn't go that far. Cody's story makes sense, you just have to do the digging into WWE history books to find it. His father came into WWF on a few stints in the 70s and the most memorable one was where he had a brief title feud with "Superstar" Billy Graham. They had two matches I believe, the first one was made out to look as if Dusty Rhodes had just become champion but the decision was overturned.

So when Cody came in and they put that picture on the screen of his Dad at MSG, he was referencing how his Dad got screwed out of the WWF title and how he was here to finish that story for his family. The one title belt that had eluded the Rhodes family.

Those two matches at MSG are up on Peacock.

Here's another example of Broadcast TV vs. Cable TV. SD! has lost close to a million weekly viewers moving from FOX to the USA network. This number here is a little lower likely because of the holiday, but they tried to circumvent that with Punk and Roman on the show and the outcome is still that cable is continuing to die a slow death and nobody can stop it. I think creatively SD! is a little worse off than they had been, RAW has been the better show of late by far but that doesn't account for a million homes.

She who shall not be named definitely has more aura than Rhea as well.
:hubie:
Brass tacks is that a wrestler's image is based 9 times outta 10 on presentation. If creative is consistent and the book is behind you, you could be mid but feel like a huge deal. That 1 outta 10 is someone with a natural gravitas that even in a shytty angle, the crowd is going to back them no matter what.

Extremely rare, they're either hella charismatic or they can really GO in the ring. Rhea built a rabid and wide fanbase online by immersing herself into the gimmick and you started to see it translated into the live crowd. They've managed to overpush her and she's losing that organic base.

They're Cena-ing her and we're watching it in real time.
Roman did the reverse and was overpushed then when they stopped he got organic love.

but Hunter can't be helped. He finally gets a Chyna Doll to play with that won't have him sleeping on the couch.
