A whole new world we missed out on. Imagine how good the internet infrastructure would be by now
It'd be relatively the same unless the Government itself was going to fund the multi billion dollar upgrade and expansion of the current infrastructure which is questionable due to Congress. The largest cities might have something better than we do now but it wouldn't be widespread unless it could all be finished (with the cooperation of the massive telecom conglomerates) before Obama (and the legislative gridlock that followed him) or a Republican got into office.
