CopeToyota took 26 years to become profitable, Amazon 9 years, Facebook 5 years, FedEx 5 years, Walmart 6 years, ESPN 6 years, Spotify 12 years, Uber 12 years, Twitter 12 years, Dropbox 14 years, Tesla 17 years, Turner Broadcasting System 12 years
Got me. Nothing was said on the TNA PPV and I've only seen some short clips of him popping up in indie promotions, sometimes giving people a clothesline from hell. What's that JBL stuff even about anyway I saw him whispering in people's ear
Considering how hot they are, this is probably smart because by early 2025 a lot of markets will be waiting for them to buy tickets for their shows. Even more so when its WM season. This doesn't mean they are getting rid of domestic Live Events, they are just likely slowing them down because it's closer to the end of the year, so Holidays are a factor and they have many more planned for the International market, can't run your talent into the ground. Plus SuperShows are a Raw/SD combo card.
I'm sure they will pick back up at the beginning of the year for their Road to RR/WM season.
Look at Ted Turner, He understood the concept of money yet his competitive streak overrode his common sense. Letting Bischoff use his checkbook to sign average at best mid-carders to 6 figure contracts is one of the big reasons why they're not around today. Tony is doing the same thing and you see he's worse off than he was when they started the company. HHH signing all these people Vince released to create an "unpredictable atmosphere" was financially irresponsible, especially since only one of them have been worth the re-signing and that's Chelsea. If he's just waiting out contracts because he doesn't have the balls to fire these people, then he is never beating the TK clone allegations.Cornette and others on staff around then have said the WWF nearly going out of business like people on the outside think for whatever reason is false.
They were leaner years and Vince offered never guaranteed money like WCW but they weren't in danger of going way. Similar time frame Vince gave Bret the largest contract in wrestling history, decided he didn't want Bret at that price and told him to go back to WCW and play them against WWF again. Point is nobody actually knows WWF's financials, only thing we have to go on are stories about copy paper in the office while Vince flew in expensive jets and spent hundreds on haircuts. But it's documented he's told wrestlers to use us to get more money from them, you are right with that.
But Vince was looking out more for his own business model than strategically plotting against WCW imo. For the same reason he didn't buy Flair, NWO etc when he bought WCW. They would've been making more than Rock & Austin and he would've lost control of the salary scale so he let Turner pay them out
Now, you're talking about somebody that doesn't have much concept of money because he's spent someone else's his whole life. Otherwise the thing would've been shut down by now, businesses don't go 5 years without profit unless you have more money than sense. Can't really checkmate him that way.
AEW is bringing in more revenue than they ever have.Look at Ted Turner, He understood the concept of money yet his competitive streak overrode his common sense. There’s allegedly been talk for a long while now about reducing or even eventually getting rid of house showsThis doesn't mean they are getting rid of domestic Live Events, they are just likely slowing them down because it's closer to the end of the year, so Holidays are a factor and they have many more planned for the International market, can't run your talent into the ground.
