The name change was still unnecessary

Weight loss was good for him tho
The thing with the name change is that it was Gunther Stark, a Nazi.

A name which if you Google, the first result is a bio of him which states very clearly in the headline that he was a German U-boat Commander in World War II. So this isn't exactly something that's buried in obscure academic textbooks that only gigantic World War II nerds read. It's easily accessible by anyone that knows how to do the most basic internet searches.

Which means that WWE either didn't put in the bare minimum effort to Google the name, or they did do that and decided naming someone after a Nazi was cool. Either way, not exactly acceptable decision making on WWE's behalf.

And they still kept him named after a fukking Nazi, they just dropped the last name after they caught a bunch of shyt for it.

This is the type of content I like. :ehh: You didn't just come in and hate because it's what marks do... you actually presented a rationale to it. Nicely done.

I’m always :russ: At fans being mad at WWE for Gunther name change and his weight loss
The weight loss was good but

The name change was completely unnecessary

If Vince was still running things after he did that Gunther would’ve been a WWE Main Event main stay & the Intercontinental Championship would still be worthless

That’s why people were upset

shyt Vince is probably why the name changed happen, shyt he’s probably the one that wanted Gunther stark. He had his name changed 3 months before his main roster debut

But everything turned out good.

“Oh no i hope what I’m hearing isn’t true. Poor Walter” :russ:

There's no such thing as half a Nazi, part-Nazi, etc. That kind of thing is all or nothing. A Nazi is a fukking Nazi no matter how hard you try spinning it.
OK then be upset at Ludwig Kaiser's name as well because there was a General named Ludwig Beck. There is also Ludwig Hahn, by the way who shares the same real last name of Gunther, whose name is Walter Hahn.

So Walter Hahn shares names with Nazis. If people get upset over Gunther, they should get upset over Walter.

Gunther Stark is a very common German name so the law of averages means that someone with that name would be a Nazi :manny:

The English translation is literally “Strong Battle Warrior”

It would have been more egregious if it was “Wolfgang Himmler” or some shyt, but they probably just didn’t do due diligence on the name Gunther Stark

This is fukking retarded logic :dead:

Gunther is an incredibly common Germanic name

This is like complaining about an American wrestler having the name Ted, Richard or John because serial killers also had that name :russ:
