I watched it but it wasn't easy to tell how hurt he was at the time. If he knew he was hurt, he could have called an audible and had The Maharajah go over. If he forfeits the title as the first ever champion that's not ideal.

Nah most promoters rightfully don't like that...especially with your world title. The proper thing would be to get a DQ really - or have it stopped on a ref stoppage...world champions shouldn't just randomly drop belts.

Yeah I think Mox did this in his match against Fenix for the International title. Mox was supposed to win but got hurt and called an audible, and Fenix ended up winning instead.

Yea and usually promoters are furious about this because its tough to book around it. Wrestlers sometimes have to do it but the practice really is that you should avoid it at all costs.

Titles change hands on a ref stoppage but I get your point. DQ or a quick finish is best if the person injured is coherent.

Fans don't like it but promoters generally don't want their wrestlers dropping the title randomly to someone they don't really intend to push at that moment.

It's a nightmare to book around a guy who may not be title ready and only got it because the person they were wrestling got hurt. Fenix getting it from Moxley was not a convenience, it became an issue.

It's not TK's fault Fenix had visa issues and had to leave the country less than a month after winning the belt. Guy only held the belt for two Dynamites after winning it. There isn't hardly shyt you can really do in that little amount of time.
