Sean prefaced that it was a rumor which is a lot better than a lot of other people did, but he still helped fuel the rumor by going live that same night and speaking about it as if there was more validity to it than there actually was, which was irresponsible on his behalf in hindsight considering it all came from a fukkin reddit poster

But still, I’ll give him credit for prefacing and reiterating over and over that it was just a rumor.

Other sheets reported that shyt as a done deal
The rumor started from a combat sports reporter who reported it like it was a fact that WWE was being sold to the Saudis, not a Reddit user.

He (the reporter guy) got it from Reddit lol

And he deleted his tweet the morning after. Hid his hands. Never even walked it back or explained. Just pretended it never existed

When WWE has another competitor it seems to be a thing the IWC cares about, especially when WWE elects to move one of their brands to compete directly against another like they did putting NXT on Wednesdays against Dynamite.

I didn't even really know nor care what ratings were back during the Monday Night Wars days, but apparently, that was a pretty hot topic back then amongst the IWC. I assume it probably was when TNA was popping too.
The ratings were a big deal back during the real wrestling war, when they were getting 12-14mil viewers combined weekly. TNA got dealt a 1st round TKO when they tried to move to Mondays, which is why they moved back to Wednesday. Meltzer used to shyt on TNA for using DVR numbers to boost their numbers, and now he's doing the same thing to boost AEW's numbers :russ:.
Fightful went on record saying they had NO evidence of that and all sources told them it wasn’t true. They never reported it…that shyt started on twitter.
Still didn't stop Sapp and his weirdo employees from going live that night and bytching about it. Talking about they feel bad for Sami & Mustafa Ali, and saying they hope wrestlers walkout in protest.:mjlol:

Fightful has been A1 for years and have been accurate on ALOT of shyt. Y’all gotta stop thinking folks like Meltzer and SRS are making shyt up.

They just the messenger buddy..
Meltzer has been way more wrong about WWE stuff than he's been right about, and he's only right about the AEW stuff because the Bucks and Kenny are his source. Sapp has basically been giving match cards info and hiding it behind a paywall. People made him the golden boy because of his Punk/Bryan news a couple of years ago, but outside of Chelsea Green he hasn't been hitting on anything. It was the WSJ that reported all the Vince news, and it was TMZ that reported Vince's surgery. None of them knew about Roman's return and Sapp got worked over a tweet from Becky a couple of months ago. Seriously what are they providing to the wrestling community except emotional speculation?:pachaha:
