Former Alabama RB arrested on domestic violence charge in Hoover

Former Alabama and NFL running back Trent Richardson was arrested in Hoover Thursday night on a domestic violence charge,

According to Hoover police, Richardson was arrested following an incident at the Hyatt Place Hotel at on John Hawkins Parkway. He's charged with one count of third-degree domestic violence.
"Officers were able to make contact with an adult male and adult female who were involved in a domestic altercation," police said in a release. "After interviewing both parties it was determined that the two individuals had been arguing earlier while at the Walmart on John Hawkins Parkway and that the dispute continued after they arrived back at the hotel. At some point the situation turned physical and the female sustained injuries (scratches and bruising) about her face."
Richardson was booked into jail on a $1,000 bond.
The 26-year-old Florida native was third overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft after a stellar career with the Crimson Tide. He played three seasons in the NFL, one with the Cleveland Browns and two more with the Indianapolis Colts. He signed with the Oakland Raiders in 2015 but was released before the season started.
