Recently one of the JRPG's franchises that has been on the come up has been the Legend of Heroes: Trails series. It is well know for Cold Steel Saga and the Trails in the Sky trilogy are some of the most loved JRPG games out their. (Everything about Sky can be found in this thread: The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky series is the greatest traditional JRPG in the last decade.)
The Crossbell Duology is the two games in the title. Now both Zero and Azure aren't getting localized until late 2022 and early 2023. But if you have played the Sky trilogy there is no reason for you to wait. The geofront patches for the Japanese PC versions are still very easy to get ahold of and they are the versions that the localized versions will be based on. Also factoring in the localized versions won't be receiving a dub.
These two games build up all of the strengths of Trails in the Sky. But improve on its biggest flaw which was the imbalances in the gameplay. Story, Characters and music are all top notch just like in Sky. Although admittedly in typical Trails fashion your experience will definitely be better if you played the Sky Trilogy. But the Crossbell duology can still be an amazing experience when just played by itself.
So if you are a big JRPG fan I highly highly recommend giving both of these games a try whether it is with the patched versions or the localized versions that come out next year.
