My list would be something like....

1: Anthony Joshua
2: Tyson Fury
3: Deontay Wilder
4: Dillian Whyte
5: Oleksandr Usyk
6: Andy Ruiz
7: Joseph Parker
8: Alexander Povetkin
9: Daniel Dubios
10: Joe Joyce
11: Oscar Rivas
12: Luiz Ortiz
13: Adam Kownacki
14: Michael Hunter
15: Dereck Chisora

Based on a number of different factors, AJ has the best record, Fury beat Wilder in their first fight to most. Usyk still has to prove himself at heavyweight but can't take away his success at Crusierweight and think he will be 1 of the top heavyweights just we're not sure how good yet. Povetkin more for record as he's slowing down a bit now, somebody like Dubois would probably beat him but he hasn't proved himself fully yet, needs to fight better opposition. Joyce was a very good amateur, so far he's beat decent competition at heavyweight considering the number of fights. Just rough off the top anyway. Somebody like Pulev could have been in there potentially, Hrgovic could be good but hasn't faced top competition yet in the pros and Joyce beat him in the amateurs .

AJ got KO'd. He don't get to be number one. Sorry breh :yeshrug:

He can be number 1 still, he beat the man who beat him so he's beat everybody he's faced now. He's by a distance some way ahead on Boxrec too who have a ratings system. I don't really have a solid number 1 out of the top 3, because they all need to fight eachother, but off records AJ has the best resume by quite a distance which is why would have to pick him for now, but of course if Wilder or Fury beat him they'd overtake him. Wilder should have a loss on his record by losing to Fury to most anyway, and Fury after that fought Schwarz and Wallin, even though he got troubled by Wallin that's 2 fighters he's clearly better than so shouldn't be competitive.

I think it should be Fury considering he never lost the lineal title in the ring and he should have gotten the decision over Wilder in the first fight.

Fury is a reasonable option, the only thing that holds him back is his consistent level of quality opponents, he beat Wlad but then didn't do the rematch and didn't come back till he was retired, beat Chisora, but who else is notable on his record? That's the thing that really holds him back to me, I'm willing to give him that first Wilder fight though as I felt he won that clearly. But that's 3 notable names out of 30 fights, he's very good but he needs to fight better fighters more consistently in my opinion.

Joshua is barely #3..ridiculous

He has the most belts, beat everybody he’s faced, has beat the better opposition and the other 2 so far have rejected offers to fight him. Having a loss means nothing, Lewis got knocked out a couple of times but still a legendary fighter and he avenged all of his defeats which is 1 of the things that puts him in a high regard. Rocky Marciano was great but he’s not in general regarded as the greatest ever just cause was was undefeated, Ali is because he fought everybody and avenged any defeat he had too apart from the last 2 fights at the end when he was completely gone and could see he was unwell.

I could understand somebody putting Fury on top cause at least he beat a great in Wlad and beat Wilder in the first fight but 2 or 3 good wins isn’t enough. He’s the only 1 out of the 3 that deserves to actually be undefeated though. I know some debate the first McDermott fight but I’d have to rewatch to assess, I know a lot of people thought he lost that fight. But taking that out there he may be the best potentially but he has more to prove, if he goes on to beat Wilder again and then AJ and Whyte like he said the other day and remains undefeated he will go down as the best of that generation. He will need to fight people though, I wanna see him vs Usyk and against good competition, fighting people like Schwarz and them isn’t good enough. Everything has to be proved.

I love Usyk to death and think he's going to be a big factor at HW but putting him #3 is ridiculous as Charles Martin not being in the top 10 :beli:

For context, these are the Boxrec's top 15 heavyweights ever at the moment, all have losses apart from Marciano.

1 Muhammad Ali 1482
2 Joe Louis 1475
3 Evander Holyfield 1197
4 Floyd Patterson 1125
5 Rocky Marciano 1008
6 Larry Holmes 972.7
7 Jack Johnson 941.3
8 Gene Tunney 936.9
9 Wladimir Klitschko 837.1
10 Joe Frazier 796.6
11 Sam Langford 786.4
12 Max Schmeling 762.3
13 Harry Wills 703.8
14 Mike Tyson 598.8
15 Lennox Lewis 539.9

I'm not even thr biggest Lennox Lewis fan, but he is ranked way too low here.

Yeah I'd rank him higher, it's hard for me to say fully though because some of those fighters were way before my time and footage can be scarce too. For me for what he'd done I'd have him probably top 5.

Boxrec cannot be taken seriously, man. Not their rankings, I mean. It's a good source to check out results, resumes and etc. but their rankings suck ass.

TBRB and the RING have the juice as far as ratings go, those 2 are generally the most respected among fans and media. ESPN is trying too but they suck at it.

Joshua is barely #3..ridiculous

Barely? Who has an argument over him aside of Fury and Wilder? And don't say Ruiz, they always rank higher the one who won the most recent one.

Agree with the Usyk take though, he is a good fighter but hasn't done anything at HW yet that would warrant a top 10-15 spot let alone 3rd

The fact that Lewis is ranked lower than Tyson and Holyfield even though he beat both of them is :francis:.

If we add both Holyfield's Cruiserweight AND Heavyweight careers ok, but just as a heavyweight Lewis > Holyfield.
