is it an expense I really don't need, i really am just a 'one and done' movie guy, I never re-watch them

Buy a blu ray player with app support. Rent your movies from redbox and keep it moving. Streaming/Downloading is what you want to be looking at.

Blu ray players can up convert standard DVDs to 1080 to watch on your gf tv so no...especially if you get one with wifi and apps
