looks like I missed out on a hell of a time :heh: No wonder MexicanMark wanted company, anything to try and pump up those attendance totals

Nah, that's gotta be the pre-show or dark match. Ain't no way.
Just put people on ignore already.
Big facts. When I had to take some folks off temporarily, shiit got real tedious. People swear it's weak but sitting there going back and forth with remedials day after day is way weaker.

Shout-out to @3Rivers , a real one.

Exhibit SMH at the state of wrestling. Heads will never let go of a gimmick at the worse of times.

That's like a Coli breh getting into a car accident and no life support, and I go....you need to be more careful like me :wow:

the thought of all the wrestlers hitting her up in character :bryan:

Daniel Bryan texting her today "Was Brodie one of the best men I ever worked with in this business? YES! YES! YES!"

I think ignoring people on here because you don't like their opinions or disagree with them is weak because at the end of the day it's a discussion board and you should be able to articulate why someone is wrong :manny:

now if you have someone so mad and in their feelings that they are trying to recreate this scene because someone insulted AEW? Then that person might need to be ignored :russ:

The comparison between AEW in 2025 and WCW in 1998 doesn't hold up under scrutiny. It ignores the massive changes in the media landscape over the past 27 years and fails to account for inflation. Adjusting for inflation, WCW's 1998 revenue of $200 million would be around $365 million today. They also ignore the biggest distinction, which is that WCW didn't just make money, it fundamentally changed the industry by dethroning WWE, a feat AEW hasn't accomplished.

Further, the two companies operated under very different business models. WCW had significant corporate backing but also bloated expenses that hurt its profitability. AEW as an independently funded entity is leaner with fewer expenses. It may end up more profitable, but profitability alone doesn't tell the full story. What WCW achieved in 1998 shouldn't be understated. WCW shifted the industry.

Beyond that, WCW helped make wrestling "cool" again. Nitro brought wrestling into mainstream popular culture with the nWo and a sense of edginess that defined an era. While AEW has carved out its niche and made waves in the industry, it hasn't achieved that kind of cultural penetration or broader mainstream relevance.

.. WCW lost close to $70M in 2000 and that's facts...... they had one year of profitability with Bischoff as the head :mjlol:

And that still doesn't change what I said or why the comparison is dumb cope.

Most of what you said is irrelevant because wrestling is a business. All this shyt about "WCW pushed WWE to the brink...." etc.. what does it really mean? What does it have to do with Dave's tweet that you all replied to?

Also, WWE was in a bad place. They had the steroid trial going on, they had multiple lawsuits going on... their attendance was worse than what AEW's is right now, they were legit doing RAW out of high school gyms.. with less than 1000 people in attendance. That all started around '93-'94...

Everything was going wrong for WWE and in the end, WCW still lost millions and lost the "war"
