AEW getting that energy they put out there back at them. Ain’t no more to it. They mobilized these people to be fed up with a bad product. Now they’re the bad product.

Reminds me of when TNA used to keep poking the bear with "Wrestling Matters", the Monday Night Wars in 2010 steez and other goofy shyt.

Even diehard TNA heads were like :unimpressed:

That's another thing I hope dies in 2025...the trope of my company is better than yours, when it's a marketing ploy to get heads into watching the product only for those exact folks to tap out and watch something else.

You cant talk all this infinity stones shyt, when your stones are not helping you fight a war that's not even there to begin with. In the end, we are all losing as wrestling is kinda stale AF on all ends of the stick :francis:

I love AEW mane…

But I ain’t had no type of interest in this shyt for a hot minute. I almost feel like they’re never gonna have that 2021 type momentum again

I mean WWE got back right after bottoming out for years so anything is possible brehs…

But it’s lookin memph bleek right now. To my fellow sick demons, we’ll always have that 2021 run when Punk, Cole and Danielson popped out for the first time

:damn:

they remind me of the Rockets post TMac and pre James Harden where they had a bunch of solid guys but no true franchise superstar.

Everybody talks about how "loaded" their roster is but honestly that only applies to workrate. Watching the show last night it just struck me how they don't have anybody that feels major the way a Roman/Cody/Punk do. Their only chance at getting a big time star is to wait for someone in WWE's contract to come up and then throw a crazy offer their way

the only way AEW will have a chance is if Tony Khan is removed from the picture entirely

Breh 2021.....was something special. IDGAF what the sickos say about progression. Everything felt fresh, new, and to the point despite the questionable shyt involving TNA partnership and etc.

It was damn near perfect because the old heads had a bit of influence behind the scenes versus nowadays. Everything had this WCW like infrastructure and somehow....sighs, its a slog to get through.

I can't shake the feeling of wanting to do something else when I finally catch a episode of Dynamite.

Don't get me the wrong, the PPVs always deliver, but the concept of a cohesive show with all the bells and whistles, the shyt died when the devil was revealed to be fragile busted package from Temu :francis:

A gradual drop over 2 years of stars/big names leaving, injured or retiring has left the current void. And then some coming in and having momentum cooled off.

Cody and Punk leaving was one, losing Kenny and Copeland to injury (potential, he was a name), Sting and Danielson have retired. Cole was out for awhile (I get he doesnt move no needles but obviously the MJF-Cole thing got cut), The Hardys were washed but were at least names that didnt work out, Jericho is washed. Toni Storm is out currently.
And then other people who had potential got put in midcard comfy workrate stuff like you said. When I went to All In, obviously it was in London but Osprey looked like he could be a star in as much as okay if you're gonna embrace the workrate sicko shyt might as well invest into the guy who embodies that. But this thing with Fletcher was midcard. The Hurt Business already is losing on day one. Mone hasnt had a hot feud since day one.

And until this week, that Mox/Death Riders thing which was supposed to be the catylst for momentum kinda cooled off (We'll see after this wee)

in a vacuum Will Ospreay doing the honors for his friend/protege in an effort to elevate him up the card makes all the sense in the world. As does having Swerve lay down for Lashley to establish him in AEW. The problem is those guys were supposed to represent the new guard, the new top tier of AEW and unfortunately it takes them out of the main event/world title picture which then keeps stale acts like Moxley and OC and quite frankly Christian in the mix instead.

I do give them credit for pivoting the main event to the next PPV which seemingly was going to be Mox vs Hangman vs Jay White vs Christian and instead replacing Christian with OC. Why OC would deserve another world title shot is beyond me from a kayfabe standpoint, but at least it balances things out a bit more in terms of adding another crowd favorite to the mix. Also they are letting Hangman do stuff to get cheered again which was sorely needed, because while people enjoyed his new character in terms of edge/grittiness, they still did not want to actually boo him.
