With "clutch time" being defined as last 5 min. w/ pt diff of 5 pts or less, only 1 of Kobe's makes counted toward it. He was 1-4.

:childplease:

We all saw with our eyes Kobe go psycho bean on the Nuggets tonight scoring 14 pts in the 4th quarter single-handedly nearly winning a game in which the Lakers were down 10+ points with 4 minutes left in the game. He hit 4 straight ridiculous 3s that no other player in the league right now could make.

Yet after the game his clutch stats get categorized as 1-4 because of the criteria used when making up a stat.

So he made the shots when it wasn't a clutch situation and he missed them when it was? Thanks for the info, Benjamin. Call the clutch stats bullshyt all you want but if I remember right, you're the one always posting them in here

He still didn't make the one that would have mattered on the stat sheet

True.

But that doesn't take away from the fact he was INCREDIBLE from the 4:30 mark to the 0:30 mark of the game scoring 12 points on 4 straight 3s bringing the Lakers back from a 11 point deficit single-handedly.

I'm just saying we shouldn't treat those numbers as the gospel when it comes to clutch play. Kobe was CLUTCH tonight. He just didn't finish it off but he was undoubtedly clutch.
