-Sheryl Crow killed it doing the theme

- Making the villain look like Steve Jobs was :mjlol: But his technocrat agenda foreshadowed the current times w/that autistic racist Musk buying Twitter

- Fun movie without being OD campy .... Unfortunately for them they started ramping up the fukkery in the next movie to the point it became barely distinguishable from Austin Powers so they had to do the "Gritty 2000's re-boot" :francis: Casino Royale was great but overall I soured on Craig's dour, jaded 007. They could've kept the tone of TND and been fine IMO

Pierce only got one good bond and that was golden eye

They did him dirty with the cheesy movies.

That said tnd was his 2nd beat bond movie

He needed a the living daylights or her majesty's.. type script so he could really shine.

Funny cuz they was playing The World Is Not Enough on TV earlier and the way that shyt aged was:scust:. Still fukkin' wit dat gritty Craig portrayal besides the one movie. We need da next mf installment like yesterday tho. They need to stop playing.

It is terrible :heh:

Its definitely on the Bond theme mt. Rushmore with Goldfinger, live and let die, and You Only Live Twice (shouts to and on her majesty’s secret service and the spy who loved me), but the movie was not good at all lol. The world is not enough had better villians,

I like to throw on The World is Not Enough if I wanna drink and watch a fukkery movie

But that's when the movies started to enter Austin Powers territory; casting Denise Richards as a nuclear physicist was wild :mjlol:

And the villains agenda was some of the most spot on foreshadowing of current times along w/RoboCop and The Running Man

yeah, came in here to say that about how prescient that technocrat/media storyline was. Fake News. War in the south China Seas. A lot of the conflicts we see now revolve in some ways around social media manipulation and propaganda campaigns. Gaza, Israel, Ukraine.

on a less serious level, this reminds me of how purely fun the whole experience of going to a movie was for me in 1997. I was 12. The whole culture of moviegoing has shifted, and I am also a lot older, but back then, it felt like the place where everybody was. I was still too young to realize how sickening movie nachos were. Didn't realize how ugly the washed out industrial movie theater carpet was. Now it's me and 2 weirdos in a theater by ourselves.

On the Bond movie part, Tomorrow Never Dies was a solid follow up, it wasn't as iconic as Goldeneye, but was a also a return to form, and the first of the Brosnan entries. And a better movie. But Tomorrow Never Dies was good. The World Is Not Enough, also was ok, but where the series went off track and had to corrected was 2002, Die Another Day.

that shyt was pretty bad. You could just see the flaws glaringly. Maybe it was just the 90's being over, 9/11, the Bourne movies were out by then too. But, it just didn't work on any level. The surfing segment. The masks.
