I was gonna make this thread the other day when they were talkin about Shaq being GM and they were showing his Magic highlights, and the one that I always liked is when the baseline camera man was the lead shot and Shaq dove on the floor and literally slid from the dotted line to out of bounds trying to save a loose ball. All the while there was a perfect shot of his face which was like :krs::ohmy:

Not to mention the great visuals of him tearing down the backboard.
Or of Jordan in the air, mid-fistpump, etc.
Dikembe on the floor crying

Stuff like that seems to be missing today. They dont even put out DVD's of great highlights of players like they did( on VHS) back then. I know there's the internet now for highlights, but I'd buy a DVD of Kobe's greatest highlights rather than look at some grainy fanmade YouTube highlight video.

They tried to take that Blake Griffin Kia dunk and cram it down our throats, but it didnt work for me. :ehh:

Interesting that you brought that up... the only classic visuals I can think of in recent years was the Kobe scowl, KG screaming "ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!!", Dirk blacking out last year's playoffs, and Lebron taking off his jersey in his last game in Cleveland

I honestly don't think the nba has done anything great visuals wise in a long time. This commercial though, Gives me goosebumps.

you haven't given the new stuff time to age. things get extremely overrated the older they get.

This is true to an extent, but some of those visuals didn't need time to look great breh. And to add to the thread, Id' say there just seem to be less "iconic" moments/images now in the playoffs, buzzer-beaters, blocks, steals, spectacular shots...don't know if that's a fact or that we just have too many visuals to go through now.

LOL....you beat me to stating this. I was gonna make this counterpoint that today maybe we're over-exposed to the NBA nowadays, due to not onlt the TV exposure, but the internet.

I still lean towards my original argument though.

just in making this thread ... if one of those wack fukk nikkas see this ... they will deliberately try to do something worthy of that snapshot ... thats why the "realism" is gone in todays youth

this is probably the best one the past 5-7 years. if the media (specifically espn) wasn't always so negative about the nba and it's players then I think it would have gotten more appreciation b/c it's a beautiful pic.

I understand where you're coming from... because I'm probably about as old as you. But the present younger generations will be saying the same thing in 15-20 years.
