Nah. This law started from "wiretapping" that's why the word intercept is being used.

The privacy and scope part is about someone giving u consent to use their device.
They can say that u violated their privacy by going outside the scope of intended usage.

The white man's explanation basically reiterated things we should already know.

Don't break into no one's email.
Don't use a device to record peoples video messages or voice messages.

Just to make sure what I was hearing was correct, I read the ECPA act.
It's exactly what I heard and thought
