Has it helped you to hold onto a man?

Has it helped you to find a "good man"? What about avoiding the "bad men"?

Has it helped you to foster a good relationship?

I'm just curious....

Alot of women read that book, the book from Tyrese/Rev Run and the others in that same vein thinking they were gonna really learn some real information about men, that's not already common sense. Thinking they're gonna find some legit info to help them land them the perfect man.

Meanwhile, Steve Harvey and co are laughing heartily all the way to the bank.

reading a book from any celebrity about relationships is the biggest mistake anyone can make

all i want to hear is warren buffet and oprah tell me the ways to manage my money

even that has to be taken w/ a grain of salt.

Those people, if they were to write a book about said subject, will only tell you what will sound good to the average American. They won't tell you stuff from their perspective b/c they don't live in the same world as 99% of the world, and that won't sell books b/c it's not relatable.

All these books are based on common sense.

But in the end we want what we want, deep down dudes with options wants looks and women with options want charisma and swag.

Those types of books are stupid IMO. I've never read one and never plan on it. Why? Different people have different tastes, and until an author has met every man who is in a happy relationship, their advice is useless.

Problem is that if you've got daddy issues, after reading these books you're still gonna have daddy issues. Until you get your shyt together none of this is gonna help you.

They're self help books. Some are garbage, some are helpful. I'd imagine there's nuggets of truth in all of them :manny:

Besides, the best book I've read on dealing with relationships is the Bible :troll:

I haven't read Tyrese, Steve Harvey's or Rev Run's books, but I think it's good for a woman to get a male's perspective about love/relationships/dating or whatever since men and women don't think alike. It would be better if they could talk with a male in their life but a book written by a male isn't an awful substitute and there are some decent ones out there. Hill Harper has a book called "The Conversation..." and I liked it...had some valuable info in there but I read it a while ago.
