Suspect, 2 others dead after Clackamas Town Center shooting | kgw.com Portland

PORTLAND – Three people were hit in a shooting at Clackamas Town Center Tuesday afternoon, according to American Medical Response.

Ten to 15 shots were fired by a person in a hockey mask, AMR said.

The mall was locked down, according to an employee at Nordstrom. A witness told KGW she heard several gunshots near there, before people ran out of the mall.

Clackamas County Sheriff's deputies said it was an "active shooting call."

“A deputy is about 50 yards away from me. He has a shotgun out, he’s hiding behind a car,” said John Canzano, a well-known local sports columnist.

Canzano said all the store security cages were immediately closed.

Several police agencies and emergency vehicles were on the scene and the suspect was still inside the mall.

A witness reported the suspect had a rifle and it jammed, before he dropped a magazine onto the floor and ran into the Macy's.

Witness Benjamin Christensen, who works in the mall, said he was there when the shooting began. He heard one shot, then six or seven more. He then began helping to evacuate others out of the rear exits.

•Two confirmed dead, 60 shots fired
•At least seven people injured
•Suspect is reported down according to police scanner (thanks Doombear/Fang Ghoul)
•I-205 around Clackamas Town Center is being shut down - POLICE ASKING THAT YOU STAY AWAY
•Tri-Met busses and Max Green Line are not serving Town Center stops
•Two busses heading out to retrieve victims and witnesses who are still at the mall

-One eyewitness report that a potential victim was saved by the gun jamming, also says that she saw one victim get shot, if so, the suspect was shooting indiscriminately.
-Assault rifle fired "multiple times"
-Suspect was disguised in some form of body armor and a white mask, possibly a hockey mask.
-Eyewitness reports that people were immediately helping the injured with bandages, blankets, etc.
-Apparently shots were fired outside of the Macys near the food court, and the shooter moved into Macy's and was taken down by police there.
-Happened at about 3:20PM (PST)
