I want to start DJ'ing just for myself as a form of stress relief and I always wanted to make my own mixes. How did y'all get started?

i don't DJ but everyone i know who does told me the best is to start on a midi controller and see if you like it first before buying real turntables and a mixer.

thats what I did... learned how to mix and beatmatch on my Pioneer DDJ-SB (which I sold two days ago).. Now I'm about to upgrade to 1200s and a mixer

my first tables, was some straight armed technics, had to glue a nickle on the tone arm to stop the skipping from cutting... LOL

I used controllers, cdj/s but I still love the feeling of vinyl and turntables...
