I've come across a number of these on YouTube. Highly entertaining. This is what mindless stans can't understand, because they live in their own bubble reality - people have EYES. And for the non-biased, the shyt he did is something we haven't seen before or since. Putting aside his greatness as a player, the aesthetic value of his game is unmatched. People try to pretend it was Nike marketing or the NBA or whatever but again people have eyes. All you need to do is actually watch him play, and not have an agenda, and it is what it is. Also, there is a vid that shows all dirty plays against him by the Pistons/Knicks - brutal stuff that could result in serious injury. Knicks too. No other superstar has gone through that kind of punishment and prevailed - especially perimeter oriented players. Not Kobe, not Wade, not Lebron. Not Curry.

Here is footage. Starts at 8:55 (also notice another Lebron fan stunned by Jordan). Show me the player that dealt with this. SHOW ME.

This is why Iverson said YouTube will keep him the GOAT to most people. There are dozens of similar vids of younger people watching him astounded. That's why stans have to lie about his competition, lie about Pippen, lie about the NBA at the time. Because you can't take him down by accurately assessing his career. It has to be by deception. Sometimes a once in a lifetime talent truly comes along, and a lot of people have a problem accepting that. But it is what it is.

Yeah....you can mental gymnastics your way looking at resumes at saying Lebron, or Kareem are 'greater' (and i don't even agree but arguments could be made) but nobody was as GOOD as jordan. He was the best. Period. You watch all other players play and you know...that is THE guy...period.

The eye test 100% favors MJ and its not really that close tbh

Opinions on who the best player is can vary. I'm not mad if you pick any of the top 10 players and declare them as the best, subject to some firm rubric.

The greatest basketball player? There's only one question and the answer is Michael. Not because he was better or more clutch or whatever or 6 rings 6 finals... But because the narration of his story is perfect. It can't be beaten by any other player that has existed on planet Earth. It's literally Shakespeare. Russell doesn't have a greater story. Neither does Kareem nor Bird or Magic nor LeBron nor Duncan.

In other sports, maybe Messi comes closest with that perfect story.

His story is so great that as a culture we pretend he walked off into the sunset and we just ignore the Wizards part of his career, like that was another player :mjlol:

He can be beat on the "best player" front. Greatest? Forget it.
