Army vet who gave tribute to Dallas officers killed by brother - NY Daily News
An Army veteran whose tribute to slain Dallas police officers was seen across the country last year was shot and killed by his brother, according to police.
Sgt. Chandler Davis stood at attention for four hours at the memorial to the five officers killed on July 7, 2016, an act of respect that saw him lauded in local media and online.

But the 34-year-old's brother John Davis admits to shooting him in the chest on Sunday evening at his home in The Colony, Texas, police in the Dallas suburb said.
John Davis, 38, told officers that his brother had accused him of stealing one of his guns and was "tearing things up" looking for the missing weapon, according to an affidavit seen by the Daily News.
2016’s trail of shock and blood: Trump, terror dominated year
The older brother allegedly said that he started recording on his cellphone, but that he became afraid for his life after the sergeant grabbed for the device and threatened to break it.
He told police that he retrieved a gun that he had hidden under a blanket and shot his brother.
John Davis now faces a murder charge.
Chandler Davis told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram last year that he gave his public tribute to the fallen Dallas officers because he wanted to show that gunman Micah Johnson, also an Army vet, did not represent those in the services.
His LinkedIn page says that he served as a medic and drill sergeant in the U.S. Army and U.S. Army Reserve from 2003 until 2016, and had started a basic training-style fitness business when he left.
