They're not bad; reasonably priced, driving the right set of wheels for some fun (if that's your thing). The only thing is, you may want a bit more power. That car would be quite interesting to drive if they could shoehorn the Corolla GR's 3 cylinder into that car.

It does have some similar lines to an RC350 (the Lexus that doesn't get nearly the attention it should, even though it has a performance model).
Cause the rc's performance is outclassed by other cars in its price range

A mustang gt is cheaper and faster than an rc f

Just makes more sense to buy if you care about performance :manny:

Plus, German name holds more wow factor than Japanese for most people when buying luxury

Hope lexus can step it up. They used to make really good performance cars, but I guess they boxed themselves into the reliable and safe box over the years

They seem like great cars

Perfect entry level sports car. Not crazy amounts of power to get yourself in trouble. Right balance to where you can toss it in the curves

Plus, you could always add a turbo kit to get more power. Aftermarket support is gonna be crazy in a few years

All types of builds coming :whoo:

Hope these sell well. It's our modern day s15 and main competitor to the miata

Both cars seem great, but I prefer the brz/86 for the hardtop

Doesn't help that the RC buyer tends to be significantly older than the typical Mustang/Camaro buyer. And the person looking at a German car typically doesnt look at a Lexus, because they usually don't handle as well or have the performance of a German car. That being said, if Lexus was smart and was thinking outside of the box a little bit -- they could make an ES-F; 3.5 TT V6 from the LS500, AWD from the ES250 with beefier axles front and rear, and a faster shifting automatic transmission. They'd sell every single one they could make if they did something like that. But Lexus doesn't seem interested in performance models aside from ridiculously expensive cars like the LC500, LF-A, etc.

Reliability is fine, but it is possible to have reliability AND good performance. Lexus hasn't seemed to figure that out; they've lost their way in that regard.

Insignificant posting from an insignificant poster
Literally just got done fixing one.

Never drove it's precdecessor... but this mofo right here... from the styling, build quality and overall feel (and this is coming from someone who works on German cars primarily).

This is one of the most well thought-out, engineered and superbly developed cars on the planet (and i would buy one, that speaks volumes coming from a current model 3 and GTR owner).

Got in it at the auto show, folks was in line to get in the Supra and I went to sit in the GR86 3 times, it was more comfortable than the Supra in my opinion. But that was just from an ergonomics standpoint....however I got in the Nissan Z and that felt like perfection, they just can't get the car right so you can't buy a Z anyway. :yeshrug:
