Just curious as to what the perception of him is around the country... being down here, both the good and the bad tend to get exaggerated and blown out of proportion, wanted to get a more fair assessment

Personally, I think he's playing much better than expected despite having the worst receiving corp in the league. He's been up and down, but I think he's shown enough to make the organization feel pretty comfortable with his ability going forward. Reminds me a lot of Bradford's rookie year (hopefully Tannehill progresses at a faster rate than Bradford, though) where the offense was overmatched so you couldn't really assess him unless you watched the games; but thus far, he looks like he has that "it" factor that QB's need to excel. That 4th qtr he played yesterday against a really good defense showed me a lot. :obama:

Hopefully we let Reggie and Jake Long walk and use that money to sign either Mike Wallace or Bowe so Tannehill actually has receivers that can get separation. A lot of his picks come from having to force the ball into tight coverage because the WRs just can't shake DBs. Wouldn't mind getting a competent TE either, tired of watching Fasano's slow ass run down the field.

Mike Sherman also needs to take the leash off him already. A lot was made of Tannehill being familiar with the offense as he ran the majority of it in college, but Sherman has been mad conservative prior to yesterday. Dude was a college WR and yet Sherman never calls any designed runs or even just roll outs to move the pocket.

I'll be the first to apologize to him face to face if I ever met em. I would of told anybody who listened coming out of college that I thought he was overrated and overdrafted.

Coming out of college I was :rudy: at him being a high first round pick.

After watching Hard Knocks I was :ehh:

Now i'm :skip:

Dude is going to be great if they ever surround him with some damn talent at WR.

Will he ever use his wheels or his he set on becoming a pocket passer? Either way I've been impressed. In Connected Careers (Coli league) we got the Dolphins at 8-3 :win:

I'd like to see him scramble on his own more, as well. It was almost as if he was watching Russell Wilson make plays with his legs yesterday and finally decided to do the same. Had a few big runs. A lot of it is on Mike Sherman though, Tannehill might as well have Drew Bledsoe-like speed because there's never any designed runs, read options, or rollouts called.

I think he'll be a top 15 QB at best (sort of like Schaub, Flacco, Cutler, etc), but I don't see him being elite level.

I thought he'd be a complete bust though. From what I've heard, he wasn't even playing QB for that long. I think he picked it up somewhere mid-way through high school.

Long is going to want a monster contract this offseason, and he's not worth premium money. He's regressed big time, but if y'all wanna pay him Joe Thomas-type money, then be my guest. I'd rather just draft a LT in the 2nd round and use that cap space on playmakers for Tannehill.

I think the Cardinals would be willing to do it.You already know Fitz wants out.The Cardinals QB situation is the worst in the league.I doubt he wants to waste away his prime years waddling around in that mess any longer

They also need a "elite LT" and that's what people call Jake Long, elite.

Some even think he's the best in the game. It's the Cardinals...They paid Kevin Kolb top 5 QB money because they "Talked to Andy Reid and he said Kolb was a future Superbowl QB" :heh:.......Of course, Cardinals:rudy:

They're that gullible/dumb as a franchise.Nothing savvy about em.They'd probably give the Dolphins Fitzgerald a 2nd& a 3rd for Jake Long...and then turn around and make Jake Long the highest paid OL in the history of the NFL

7 tds through 10 games? :flabbynsick:

yea, on paper his numbers are ass... a lot of it has to do with the offense just being THAT bad; and even when we do move the ball, we don't have anything even remotely resembling a red zone threat, so we usually try to score via running the ball
