So today was leg day for me on that reverse pyramid program. Started off with 6 reps of 255 on the squat. Got through that relatively easily.

Then I went down to 230 and aimed for 8. When I plateau on my squats, it usually happens on my second set. It's either because of those headaches or fatigue. But today, I busted them out super easily. No long pauses between my reps. When I put the weight back, I had to look at them to make sure I'd put enough weight on it like :dwillhuh:/:wtf:

So then my last set was 205 and 10 reps. Again, I did it with no trouble. No pauses, no headaches, no extended pauses between reps. I think it surprised me because I remember last week during my second and third sets when my legs were literally quivering. But today it was all gravy (mind y'all, this is the first time I've ever squatted over 250 lbs ever).

Days like this remind me of why I go - it's not so much for the body sculpting (although the compliments I get are a big part of it, not gonna lie), but also to see how far I can push myself and find out my upper limits. It's such a good feeling when you outdo yourself :mjcry:

Yea and its usually the days I had no motivation to even lift.

Go from :shaq2: to :leon::blessed: in the matter of 2 sets.

Now that you mention it, I was kind of dreading it that day because I still remembered how my legs were quivering the week before

And then I did it and it was gravy :mjcry:

This X 1000 to the power of infinite!

As per the last line in my signature, I don't understand how someone can be content with him/her self by being just basic or narrow visioned i.e.. short sight goals!

I used to say the same shyte to myself in the novice days 'Oh I can't wait to hit up that 2PPS bench or 3PPS squat then imma stop & bang out some Johnny Bravo sets'...but every time I eclipsed a a milestone it magically spurred me on to push for bigger lofty numbers. We are naturally wired to Strive for bigger, better & more every timewe break PB's & set the bar higher (pun intended). If your training is constructive & in accordance to a sensible action plan there is no reason you should STOP pushing yourself in fear of ending up in snap city once certain goals are conquered ...case in point;

Once had a funny ass convo with a guy at gym who was aiming to hit certain weight figures e.g 3PPS on Bench & Dead lift then stop there & then proceed to hit the same weights for the same number of reps & sets week in week out. I gave me the signature WTF look... :what: tried to convince him to aim higher & not deny his body the progress its capable off . Turns out he is only in it for the 'Sex appeal'... or the lack off from what I could see :sas2:

I know this feel. Did a mixed chest/shoulder workout on monday night, threw in Military Press to start. Banged out reps of 5x5 @95 cause thats my max and im training to get that up. Didnt tire from it, and I did it cold (no warmups, first exercise). Moved on and did some bench press for a few sets, than tricep pulldowns, keeping that rest to zilch. 30 minutes later I wasnt feeling tapped so I was looking for something to be my farewell movement. Went back to the Military press, did 105 for 6 reps. Did not believe it. Strapped on another 10, 115 for 3 reps and a cheat. One of my GOAT workout days.:blessed:

Hit that 295x6 on the squats today
Then 265x8
Then 240x10

If anyone had told me I would ever be squatting close to 300 pounds, I wouldn't believe them :mjcry:
