I wouldn't say he is a c00n. He devoted his whole life to understanding the causes of the African American struggle.
A real c00n wouldn't give a fukk about the black American struggle or black history or black culture.
In a lot of his books, he points the blame on the negative influence of Scots Irish culture on black slaves, which is a lessor known, but still a key input into Modern African American culture. Moreover, he blames the LBJ and the great society for today's Black American problems. In essence, he had found that white people are a major negative influence on blacks.
In many of his books, he implies that, fundamentally, he is providing a counter argument against hereditarians (like Charles Murray and Aurthur Jensen). In his mind maybe he is defending black people.
Modern hereditarians (like Steve Hsu or Palmer) seem to use their arguments to promote more socialism and more statism. They covertly imply that those with a lack of innate ability are akin to a class of permenant children, and the high IQ class is supposed to take care of them. That's why they praise technocracies like Singapore or China. Thomas Sowell and Amy Chua, along with other's in the blame-culture-camp, are the only really trying to defeat these arguments. When you logically follow modern progressivism, it leads to the same conclusion as Modern Hereditarians, which is not a pretty outcome. in that regard, Sowell is one of the few defenders freedom left.
