Diadet was due to him willing to take less money for the KAT trade. There’s a great Athletic article about this
I think Dadiet's willingness to take 80% of that draft slot's contract value was a key aspect. That's one of the bunch of moves listed that had to happen in order for the Knicks to swing the KAT trade and remain below the second apron (by 0.2% apparently)...still sucks though.

Completely missed that part. I thought the money was guaranteed. Did not know you could get a player to take less. :leon:

Yeah. Usually it’s between 80 and 120 percent with first rounders always getting the 120 percent. Pacome wanted to play now so he took 80
